Please let us introduce ourselves. We are the Northern Kane County
Economic Development Council, a strong new association that has partnered with your
local Chamber of Commerce, Village Leaders, Utilities, Banks, Real Estate Brokers, and
Developers to further economic growth in our community.
Other prominent partners include: The Illinois Department of Commerce and Community
Affairs, the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Financial Development
Authority, the Business centers located at Elgin Community College and Northern Illinois
University, and the Kane County Economic Development Board. As a unified team, we offer
one voice to be heard across Northern Kane County.
We cordially invite YOU to join our partnership! Our philosophy is "Partnering to
Provide Opportunities." The stimulation of "Economic Growth" in our
community depends on the efforts of us all.
Our first priority is to work on the expansion and retention of local businesses from
"Maple to Main Streets to the Mall." We are focused on the increasing
development of our industrial parks and on programs to attract new business. When new
businesses open in our community, it results in the spreading out and lowering of local
taxes, because it automatically enlarges our overall tax-base. (Right now, our overall
growth as a community is at the 28% mark.)
Other important issues that we are addressing include transportation, roads, new highways
and bridges, education and job-training, human resources, taxes, TIF districts, state
grants, and funding allocation for growth and expansion for our community. These are
arduous tasks that will require your co-operation and assistance, if we are to achieve a
shared success!
